We are family

I have mentioned my all consuming passion for genealogy on these pages before. I am always interested to find links with past generations, which are often related to health issues or, certainly in the husbands family, ability or skills. In his family there is a clear leaning towards the arts - a family of artists, scuptors and musicians. Mine.....? Drinkers, apparently!

Although it can't be definatively proved, in my family I have found links to my hereditary deafness and my double-jointedness. I also tracked down the origins of my daughter's red hair.

Sadly, I now seem to be in the position of passing on something to a future generation....my poor wee poppet has tonsillitis

So long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu...

Goodbye to my tonsils. I go into hospital at midday tomorrow, and by tea time (that's dinner time for you soft southerners) tomorrow I will be less of woman than I was when I went in.

As I have regularly mentioned in this blog, I am an absolute martyr to my tonsils, with anywhere up to four bouts a year. Enough is enough, and they are coming out.

I am only in hospital over night, and then I am off on the sick for a minimum of two weeks. How flippin' brilliant is that? A doctor's note to say that I can switch off the laptop and mobile phone for 10 working days.

I have a stack of books, DVDs, mags, sewing and suduko puzzles, and I am going to jolly well enjoy myself. Well, once the anesthetic wears off and the pain relief drugs kick in.

I may blog...

I'm tired..

Tired of getting sick. I have tonsillitis for the second time in two months, and the 8 millionth time this year. (I exagerate, but not much). So, the doctor has agreed to refer me to the hospital to have 'em out. Knowing my luck, I'll get MRSA. But the upside is that I'm watching an ancient episode of Hill Street Blues, and I'm going to have a blog catch up....if I can find the cable to link my camera to the computer.

Crap, crap crap

Well, I thought my next post would be about our fabby trip to Disneyland. That will appear soon, I promise, but right now I just want a winge instead.

So, I have a cold and a cough. but I got this on about 27th February. It was rubbish, but not bad enough to stay off work. In fact, i started it while actually working in the office, rather than being at home, so liberally shared the bug with my colleagues. It cleared up pretty much to go to France (ibid), then came back with a vengence this week, resulting in time off work, much drooping around the house feeling sorry for myself, and huge amounts of coughing. It's now sunday, I'm still coughing and sneezing, I've run out of Nightnurse, and I have to go to Brussels on Wednesday.
And I am desperately trying to finish an essay on Sharia law. My heart just isn't in it.
And I have to be up early to go to Birmingham tomorrow.
And my boss resigned last week. He stuck it less than 12 months.
And it is bloody snowing.

However, on the bright side, today is Mothers Day, and i got the most gorgeous card from Laura.
And i've booked our flights for the girly holiday (actually..mother and baby) in Spain in May.
And as i got a B in my last essay (did I mention that?) maybe I can afford to be a bit slack with this one.
